I noticed a weird thing that Extras (Making of, Interviews etc) are ALL OK for Movies, but TV Series are not. I tested and see they are OK on my Samsung TVs (Plex App on Samsung TV) and on my Android mobile app, but not Plex Windows app, Browser, Plex Android app for Nvidia Shield they are NOT visible.
I checked the forum before posting this, and see this is platform dependent, but those posts were several years old, so I am hoping the issue has been fixed by now and that maybe I’m just doing something wrong…?
If platform dependency IS still the issue, I am baffled how it hasn’t been sorted out by now for the Nvidia Shield, especially as the main feature of the Shield it the PMS capability.
I will also contact Nvidia about this too.
If necessary, is there some way to get this extra content to show up under each series, perhaps by changing labelling or smtg?
On a side note, The TV Series Extras that seem to work on the Samsung TVs show the Extras for Spartacus S1 (Blood & Sand), but strangely NOT for the prequel (Gods of the Arena), yet the file structure is identical - folder labelled Featurettes inside the folder for the series, alongside the episodes. Anyone got any idea what’s wrong and why the extras for this Series 00 is are not showing up? (They ARE visible on Plex App on Android mobile).
Thank you for your reply. With this info I managed a work-around, by putting the extras all in one folder and now they appear under the main show, rather than under each season, relabelling each to reflect the season it relates to, it looks messy as there are lots of extras for each season, but at least it works on all devices now.
I must say I am disappointed and can’t understand why extras can’t be put in with individual seasons and it work properly for all devices/platforms - it works fine for movies, so what’s the showstopper when it comes to TV Shows?
According to the posts I’ve read on this forum this has been flagged as an issue for years, yet still not resolved. I am even more annoyed that the NvShield is affected by this, as I expected that have zero issues with Plex considering a key feature is the PMS capability.
Anyway, work-around seems to help, but I hope it gets implemented properly on all platforms sometime soon.
To be perfectly honest, I’m in the same boat and still waiting for this to be added to the Apple TV client.
I can understand it’s not particularly nice / adding another layer of complexity to users… also, it doesn’t look there’s a massive group of users who consider it a must have (either because they don’t miss the extras, are ok to move them to the show level or because they seem other suggestions more important for themselves).
