Plex runs as a plugin within a jail. I updated both the NAS and the jail/Plex plugin.
I changed my password for my plex account and added two factor authentication, for some reason my local login remained unchanged. At first I was unable to remotely view any of my media, the error code referred to not having security settings configured properly…I checked the provided link and everything was configured as suggested.
For some reason today, I am able to access everything remotely but am unable to log into my plex’s IP. I tried the original password and the updated, it appears to accept the log on but then stops and claims there was an error logging in. The only thing I can think of is that there is a conflict between the two factor authentication not being requested when performing a local log in?
I’m receiving the same error today. In my case, I have not enabled two factor authentication. I log in, get redirected to my local Plex server, and then redirected back to app.plex.tv/auth which shows me “There was an error signing in”.
I’m running Plex server 1.24.2.4973 on an Ubuntu Linux host (no container/jail/etc., just plain Linux). I just updated today from 1.23.x to see if updating would resolve the issue. I also tried both Brave and Safari browsers with the same result.
Same issue. Started on one PC (web logon) and is now affecting two PCs, one of which is my daily driver and has never had issues with Plex in almost a year of use.
Looks like Firefox works but Brave and Chrome do not.
