Local Lyrics not showing as available

Server Version#: 1.15.6.1079

Howedy all,

I’ve been unable to get local lyrics working for some time now. I have several artists who’s lyrics are not available in LyricFind. I rather enjoy the timed lyrics, and used a generator to create the .lrc files. When placed in the album’s directory, Plex doesn’t show as the lyrics are available.

Here is my folder structure:

And here is an exert of the .lrc file:

[00:42.38]I know, you know I’ve been waiting
[00:47.56]Sleepless nights, no conversations
[00:53.16]And I know you had a clue but faked it
[00:58.76]The innocence in your eyes, I hate it
[01:03.71]My soul, so low
[01:06.63]Need you gone

I’ve done a bit of digging, but haven’t found any good solutions to this issue

What I generally do to get this working is create a .txt file with the identical name of the track in the same directory (similar to your screenshot).

After that I will refresh the meta data and the next time I play the track then the lyrics icon is available and shows the lyrics.

The only thing with this approach though is it does not highlight the lyrics as the music plays.

Hmmm…I decided to mess about a bit based on what you posted, manually adding in the timestamps and then changed the .txt to .lrc and the lyrics are showing as well as highlighting the lyrics as it goes.

So perhaps it is either you need to manually refresh the metadata or else something going on with the program?

I changed the file from .lrc to txt, then refreshed metadata, but still no lyrics available.

Very strange

Not sure if this makes a difference but I am on version 1.15.8.1198 of the server.

I know in the past I would have times when I had no lyrics and needed to do a ‘Refresh All Metadata’ (i.e. the global library option) for it to work. I also set my agents as follows (though this shouldn’t have an impact on your case since this was a LyricFind issue for me at the time):

Global as in Global for Music? I don’t see the option for all library’s

Also, thank you for your help so far! It’s very much appreciated!

For clarity, I meant this option from the dot menu (this is the new UNO UI but it is similar in the old UI)

The thing with this though is depending on how large your library is, it can be very time consuming (for me it takes many many hours so I usually kick it off before going to bed  )

I don’t havea huge library yet, so it doesn’t take very long.

I refreshed earlier, but with no change. No lyrics from TXT or LRC files

For the track in question, do you see the following in the Get Info option?

The reason I ask is there was the following post with someone else that was having issues and it was mentioned there.

Also, have you looked at this post?

Perhaps it is in the way that the folder and file structure is that is preventing Plex from finding the lyric files? At this point I am not sure why it would not be working for you

I won’t lie to you, I’ve actually spent a few weeks messing with this on and off. Renaming files (removing the track number, etc), trying to get this to work.

I left for a meeting, and when I returned, the timed lyrics showed up perfectly. Verified on three different songs.

I’m guessing the “Refreshing Metadata” took a bit longer than the web interface lead on with.

Either way, all is fixed, and I’m as happy as can be! Thank you sir/madem!

Awesome! Glad it worked out
