I had been listening to music for days using the Plex Web interface on my Plex Server installed on my ReadyNAS 212. Chrome needed to update so I did so. When I went back to the web interface all my libraries were gone. When I go to Your Media it says:
Add your media to Plex
Organize, beautify, stream, and share your personal collection of movies, TV, music, and photos anywhere, on all your devices. To get started, download our free Plex Media Server software on the device where you store your media.
and there’s a GET PLEX MEDIA SERVER button.
I have the server. I want my libraries. I installed the latest version available (Feb 15, 2021) on my ReadyNAS and the same thing happens.
Did you link your Plex Media Server to your Plex account?
Sounds like you’re either trying to access it with a different user account (therefore Plex won’t show you any of the content) or you’re trying to access it using the hosted version of the Plex Web app (http://app.plex.tv/desktop) instead of the one installed on your server (which works fine if your server/account are linked – otherwise it’ll show you that particular message).
I’m pretty sure I linked my media server to my Plex account. The account I’m logging in with is the one and only account I have. I’m definitely logging in to the media server on my NAS. When I log out I see the following.
I got this working. I had setup a new cable modem/router and it was having DNS issues. I got around this by manually configuring DNS servers on my computer, phone, etc. I did not do this on my ReadyNAS. When I replaced the cable modem/router with working DNS Plex started working again.
So I guess if the your local Plex media server cannot reach Plex’s servers your SOL? Because I had the same problem on my Roku. Not very resilient. I have Plex running locally for a reason. It should work locally if there are any internet issues.
