Local network latency after update to 1.40.5.8921

Server Version#: 1.40.5.8921
Player Version#: Several, playing from Chromecast, Roku and android app.

Quick information about my setup:
Intel 12900k CPU, 128gb of RAM, no overclocking, using embedded video. 4 hard drives with a total space used of a little over 22tb used.

I’ve been running fine in previous versions, last version was 1.40.5.8854 but since I updated to 8921 I’ve had complaints of buffering. We’re seeing this mostly on 1080p shows but even on the 720, we’re still seeing some buffering. If I perform the database cleanup action under the troubleshooting tab, it seems to fix it for a day or so. I’ve checked RAM and CPU utilization under the performance tab (as well as running TOP) and I’ve seen only minimal utilization. The network is also seeing minimal utilization during the issue, where I am seeing the issue even when only one show is streaming. I’m about to downgrade back to 8854 to see if that resolves the issue. I’ll update after I test this.

**Note, I’m only testing this on my local network. No external users have complained thus far.

Try this:

It will do a level of cleanup & optimization in the DB which PMS cannot do
because PMS is running (DB is in use)

The procedure, after it identifies the host type: Stop, Automatic, Start, Exit (when ready) – ‘Prune’ will clean up old internal image files and also make plex/web faster.

As for buffering during Playback, We’ll need your DEBUG server logs which capture it to find out what’s actually happening.

I downgraded to 8854 last night and the issue is currently clear post downgrade. I’ll upgrade again this weekend and reproduce the issue to grab logs.

I performed the actions here and I’ve just updated to the latest release which is now 1.41.0.8994 and I am not buffering anymore on the newer version. I can’t say if the issue was fixed by the database maintenance or if it was fixed by upgrading to the newer version, but in either case my kids are happy their shows are working.
