Local pms sign in error and automatic sign in issue

My issue is that when I try to log in to plex via the PMS server by double clicking the icon in the system tray it ask me to login. I put in my creds and then it loads me right back to the log in page. So i put my creds in a 2nd time and then it just says sign in error. However, if I go in through plex.tv and launch it that way it works. My automatic sign in feature is not working either on the browser eith. I have tried multiple browsers, uninstalled server and reinstalled with no fix. Any help would be appreciatedPlex Media Server Logs_2021-02-19_17-36-30.zip (3.8 MB)

I’m not really sure what you mean by “automatic sign in feature”. In Plex that is only to skip the user picker if you have multiple “Plex Home” users.

If you have your browser set to clear cookies on close then it will not remember you when you go there again and ask you to sign in.

What URL is it initially taking you to 127.0.0.1:32400/web ?

Correct i have multiple plex home users and normally it used to just sign straight into me. now it no longer does even though i click the check mark automatic sign in and save it - it does not take. I am not sure what you mean by what url. I mean i double click the pms or right click the pms icon in my system try and then click open plex. Once I do i’m brought to this url (http://127.0.0.1:32400/web/index.html) for half a second before it routes me to this url (https://app.plex.tv/auth/#!?clientID=fg3n31fhz0meey59xjr9zr54&context[device][product]=Plex%20Web&context[device][version]=4.51.3&context[device][platform]=Firefox&context[device][platformVersion]=85.0&context[device][device]=Windows&context[device][model]=bundled&context[device][screenResolution]=1280x578%2C1280x720&context[device][layout]=desktop&context[device][protocol]=http-loopback&forwardUrl=http%3A%2F%2F127.0.0.1%3A32400%2Fweb%2Findex.html%23!%2Flogin%3FpinID%3D1282442633&code=41ru9ik40xvndvql6r2mjtjji&language=en) asking me to sign in to my account and then I run into my orginal issue.

also i do not have thhe option in my settings to clear cookies on close enabled. plus if that was the case it would not be happening on every browser i try

Does it work in an incognito/private window? If you look at the browsers own console logs as the page is loading do you see errors?

i tried it in an incognito window and i’m still having the sign in error from my local pms i saw nothing in the logs that would suggest an issue with my browser. i tried multipled browsers

Not sure why but appears the issue has been resolved. I cleared out the user data and reinstalled it fresh another time and seems to have worked.
