I have local sidecar subtitles in.srt format for movies and tv shows. I cannot get plex to automatically add the subtitles to shows and movies even though I have changed the agents around. I can manually add the subtitles no problem, but I would prefer not to do that for the thousand or so subtitles I have. Any help?
The same thing is happening to me. I have the subtitles named xxxx.English.Forced.srt and it should take them automatically, this is happening after the last update.
This happens only with new content, the one that was already loaded and has the subtitles xxxx.English.Forced.srt does take them automatically.
For what it is worth, I was having this same issue as well. Some episodes of a TV show would play properly, finding the English subtitle, other episodes would not. I discovered there was a very tiny error in the file naming: the episodes were all titled in upper case (S01E01), but some of the SRT subtitle files were titled using lower case (s01e01). I never would have thunk such a tiny difference in naming would create an issue, but it sure did. By simply changing all subtitles to upper case S and E, Plex had no problem finding the local subtitles.
