Hello everyone,
I can not get the subtitles to work for both external or local srt files. Although the agents for subtitle is set to opensubtitles.org and the language is selected as English it won’t find or load subtitles. Also as I mentioned before the local srt files ,that has the same name and in the same folder as the movie, also won’t load or shown in under subtitles. How can I get the subtitles work as it is very important for me.
Plex Version 1.18.0.1944
Runs on Windows 8.1
Client Samsung Blu-Ray Player
Does this include upper-/lower casing? It has to.
Settings - Server - Agents - Movies
activate the line ‘Local Media Assets’ on every tab.
Then ‘refresh metadata’ on some of the movies.
If you still have issues with recognizing external subtitles, please copy & paste the file names of such a video/subtitle file pair.
I have same problem with Subtitles. Some show, some don’t. Files are named exactly the same (I copy and paste the media file and srt file names.) I’ve added language extension (eg .eng) to no avail. I changed settings in agents (Local Media Assets to top and checked) Subtitles “Always” on etc, to no avail. I include screenshots of the problem. What else can I try. Please help.
You are not using subfolders per season. These are required for external subtitles to get recognized.
This is all season 1.. or do you mean each episode has to be in individual folders also?
Hereis another example. The Walking Dead season 10. Ep 4 shows both ext and local media asset subtitle, but episode 7 (plus 5&6) shows none.
The screenshots in your first post are missing the season folders.
The screenshots in your second post do have a season folder (although it’s slightly mislabeled).
If you have a mixture of some episodes with and some eps without subtitles, I’d check first thing the file access permissions when on Linux.
(Although this thread is about Windows.)
I will check the permissions. Sorry, didn’t realise this was for windows. How should I label the season folder?
Do I need to go to a different thread or start a new thread?
Like it’s shown in my link above. Season 01
, Season 02
, …
Depends on the user who opened this thread. He might get notified about our conversation and might get annyoyed by it and demand the thread be closed.
If you have continued issues, I recommend you to create an own thread in the Plex Server - Linux forum section.
Thanks for your help and advice. I will start a new thread since I don’t want to annoy the original user, plus other Linux users will find this thread easier if they have same problem. I will continue on new thread
