Localhost:34200 not loading

Hi all

when I double click on the plex system tray icon, it normally locals localhost:32400 but now it just is stuck on the plex screen and nothing loads.

the url is 127.0.0.1:32400/myplex/launch?X-Plex-Token=local-f1ctwa21-6314-435b etc

I have to go onto app.plex.tv to load my server. with this I cannot locally stream things on my pc but the media server is running and operational. I am able to play plex on my devices in my house and also remote play anywhere in the world. I just cannot get local server to launch.

can someone please assist.

Thank you

“client”, not “server”.

hi, i checked that and i do have local network access ticked.

when i check the local host it says it is insecure. it was working and then all of a sudden it stopped. i couldnt even access radarr or any other program that uses localhost. are there any other places i can check? i went into chrome and allowed all the options and connections but still not loading

app.plex.tv works fine. its the only way i can access my server. localhost:32400 doesn’t load…

There was an issue several months back on Windows, after a windows update, where localhost/127.0.0.1 stopped working. It was fixed, but maybe your system hasn’t updated since that update?

Can you access it via http://<serverip>:32400/web? Replace server ip with the ip of the computer.

you should edit your first post and remove the X-Plex-Token.

hi veejay, no that also doesnt work. and program that needs to access localhost doesnt seem to load.

hi I did not include the correct nor full token so it is safe.

Do you have any antivirus or security tools/extensions added to your system, if so temporarily disable them.

Have you tried using a private/incognito window?

Are you using a non-default web browser?
Or if you do, any browser add-ins which are designed to block websites (or parts of web sites?)

hi, windows defender is disabled and also tried in incognito - still not luck

tried on both chrome and edge, incognito and still no luck :frowning:

A 3rd-party anti virus app?

No 3rd party virus app.

I guess these are one of those enigmas. I’m going to be movie upgrading my setup to unraid and then will run everything off there. So not a major train smash but it’s annoying. I guess it’s a minor trade off for finally getting my remote access working flawlessly after ages.

Since you mentioned you can’t access other apps on localhost, gonna assume it’s something with the system. Can you ping localhost?

If you try to access the direct serverip url from another device on the network, does it connect?

Hopefully when you move to Unraid the issue won’t still be present.

Have you checked your windows host file?
