Web Player cannot find server locally

Server Version#: 1.32.6.7371 was previously running latest public build and experiencing the same issue
Player Version#: 4.113.2

Ever since 8/21/23, I’ve not been able to access my Plex via the web player when locally streaming. I don’t know what changed since I did zero network changed on my firewall, no major updates were pushed out that I’m aware of, and Plex didn’t seem to update overnight. It’s bizarre- the 32400 port is open for my windows Plex server, I’m able to play media from any all other devices except the Web Player on multiple local computers (so I know it’s not one PC or browser), and updating to the beta channel did not fix it. The windows store version works but I personally would not prefer to use it.

Does anyone have any suggestions for a fix? I’ve tried changing “Secure” connection settings, I tried adding my computer’s IP under “Custom server access URLs”, “List of IP addresses and networks that are allowed without auth”, and “LAN Networks”. I have “Treat WAN IP As LAN Bandwidth” and “Enable Relay” turned on. I’ve tried changing almost all setting under the Network tab on the server for troubleshooting purposes, I’m at a complete lost!

What exactly are you seeing? IS this on the same machine? Does it matter if you use the local or hosted web app?

It says “[server name] is currently unavailable” when accessing via app.plex.tv. I see this on local machines and also on the Plex server itself if I visit it using app.plex.tv. I’m able to use the web player just fine on the Plex server if I use the loopback address 127.0.0.1:32400 but that only works on the server.

Any thing you’d like me to try or how can I troubleshoot?

Sorry I did not see your reply. I can’t figure out what is wrong based on what I see on your account but I can reset your security certificate but I did not want to do so until I got your go ahead so you were aware what is happening.

Okay, let’s give that a try. I’ve exhausted nearly every setting/change on my end. Thanks!

I am facing the same issue since end of August 2023 similarly.
The difference is that I am using mac-server

Plex media server version installed: 1.32.5.7349 (2023Jul24)
beta version (2023Aug30) did not work, so I reinstalled Jul24 release
Plex for Mac Player version: 1.77.3.3966-a5ddb215 (2023-Aug-30)
Plex Web General: Version 4.114.3
the 32400 port is open for my mac Plex server
I have tried all workarounds, could not resolve either. Could you please help to resolve?

Hi BigWheel, have you already tried this for my account?

About half of my users are also experiencing the same issue on their web player and TVs when accessing my Plex.

Sorry I don’t know why i am not seeing your replies. I just reset the cert

All good, do I need to do anything on my end? I just restarted the server and went to app.plex.tv on the same PC as my Plex Server and it still shows my server as unavailable.

Here’s something I just tested that is making me pull my hair out - I’m on a completely separate and remote network than my Plex network right now and I’m able to access app.plex.tv via Cellular but if I connect to my friends Wi-Fi, I can no longer connect. So at this point, I can’t connect to my own plex from my own LAN network or my friends network but it somehow works over cellular.

That is weird. What ISP do you have?

AltaFiber in Cincinnati, I did not recently change providers

Possibly a dumb question but want to make sure I am covering basics. Have you tried an incognito/private window

Yep I’ve tried incognito.
