Locked metadata is not being locked

Server Version: 1.21.1.3830
Player Version: Plex Web 4.49.2

I’m tired of update my movies. Everytime I add a new movie into library I match it with the Plex Agent. After matched, I update genres, titles, sinopsis (just because Plex does not respect my language). Then I lock fields updated. That’s all.

After 3 or 4 days, Plex reupdate these movies and replace all locked fields. An I do it again, update all fields. It happens as a loop. Again, Plex update. Again, I update and lock.

Is there no way to fix it?

When you update a field, Plex will automatically lock it. As per your description, you’re clicking the lock again… are you sure those fields are locked and you’re not accidentally unlocking them again?

Yes, I am sure. The field is orange and with the locked icon.

the only scenario coming to mind where something like this could happen is if Plex “loses” your media (e.g. if your media is on a drive that can disappear / fail to spin-up fast enough / … in combination with your library being configured to automatically empty its trash after every scan). In that case Plex will add your media anew when the drive is back and of course go back to the original online metadata.

If you experience this kind of issues you might want to prefer disabling Settings > [Server Name] > Library > Automatically empty trash after every scan.

What language have you set for your the library in question (... > Manage Library > Edit... -> General > Language)?

Okay, so I disabled Automatically empty trash after every scan and I will follow up changes.

About Language, it is set as Portuguese and country as Brazil. But, I already accepted it does not work. Sinopsis, genres and even titles not come in portuguese. Titles and sinopsis only in some movies. Genres never in portuguese. Posters instead always come with the portuguese title.

Today, Plex forgot again some metadata for some movies.
