Login and Security Problems Persist

I am getting really annoyed with trying to access PLEX on My OWN Network via the TV’s that are connected to my OWN network, All I can tell is that PLEX seems to just want to throw security at you for the sake of Security.

What I am After.

The TV’s can access PLEX on my OWN network without asking for logins and passwords and security. I just want them to be able to play the Videoa and Music that is on my OWN network without logging in. Do not see the need for anyone to have to login when they are on my OWN network.

No one on my OWN network needs to log in to see the files on the NAS box anyway so what is PLEX so OVER THE TOP???

All we get on ALL of the Samsung TV’s is:

“Unable to switch user”
User doesn’t have access to any servers or shared content.
Make sure the server is logged into your account or, if it is remote, that content has been shared with you.

I am logged into the PLEX server with these stupid PIN numbers that I cannot get rid off.

I have created the same accounts with full admin rights for the rest of the family.

And still cannot get bloody PLEX to work,

I just beed PLEX to be OPEN, No passwords, No stupid over the top security and just simple for the family to access, been trying now for 3 months to get this working and no further forward.

What’s the LAN IP range you have at home?
192.168.x.x ? 10.x.x.x ? or 172.16.x.x → 172.31.x.x ?

If any of those,

  1. Settings - Server - Network - SHOW ADVANCED

  2. At the top, make certain Secure is “Preferred”

  3. At the very bottom field, you specify those addressed allowed without auth.
    Enter the entire subnet range. You can use CIDR or decimal notation.

Thanks for this will make changes now and try in the morning.

Internal Network is 172.16.0.0/255.255.248.0

I have set this at the bottom for the list of addresses and networks that are allowed without authorization.

I hope this works and will get back to on this, it’s been a very frustrating journey so far…
