When I go to Plex in my browser, I’m prompted for email and password. When I fill them in, it says that it is incorrect. So I followed the “Forgot” prompt (even though I did not forget, Plex did, but what can you do) but I never get the password reset email.
I tried a different computer and a different browser, and I restarted the server. No luck.
However I can still see my content on my smart TV. So it seems like my account is still active. Plex just won’t accept my password anymore. And it won’t send me a password reset email. I checked my spam folder.
Not via the web app, of course, because I can’t log in.
I will try to use the shell on my FreeNAS. (I’m not a regular shell user) What is the file name I should be looking for?
The indicated path $PLEX_HOME/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/ does not exist on my NAS.
When I try to connect to my local Plex server, it passes control to app.plex.tv for user name and password. That makes me think that if there is any error being logged, it would be on the app.plex.tv side, not on my local server.
For FreeNAS the path is ${JAIL_ROOT}/Plex Media Server/ or ${JAIL_ROOT}/var/db/plexdata/Plex Media Server/ depending on your version. There have been reports of servers forgetting that they are claimed with 1.30, thats why I recommended the claim tool.
Ah. Sorry for missing that.
According to the instructions, this procedure requires a “Plex Claim Token”. In order to get one of those, you need to log in. I can’t log in because my user name/password is rejected.
