Lots of Metadata of Season episodes doesn't show - Need help!

Server Version#: 1.20.5.3600
Player Version#:

I have attempted about everything I could think of. I have removed the TV season from the hard drive, removed it from plex, re-copy the folder, scanned library files, renamed the tv show based on the best practises, update metadata with TVDB and or TMDB, Plex Dance and more, but nothing works.

Any idea?(File removed)

BTW, why can’t we just be able to REMOVE from DATABASE and RE-SCAN? The only option available is the delete one.

Thanx. Regards.

Out of curiosity, after you removed the files and rescanned to remove them from the library, did you then “empty trash” and “clean bundles” before flying the files back over and scanning the library again?

Hello Dalmus,

When you talk about EMPTY TRASH, are you taking about the Windows Trash?

Note: I just removed it from the folder that are scanned by plex and delete the tv show.

What is CLEAN BUNDLE? Is this a feature in PLEX.

I have hundreds of series that does this. So it’s always a long process to do this manually.

Thanx for your help.
Regards

Is there any support around here?

Okay, this is still a medium issue but when you have a large number of TVSHOWS and this does it for hundreds of metadata on episodes… it becomes on my part an issue than others might encounter too!

Please, is there any support around? I have some hundreds TV SHOWS episodes based on WEBTOOLS that is missing metadata

Can you give us an example of the folder/name structure you are using from parent folder to episode file? Ups be surprised how many people think they make things properly, but inadvertently miss a step.

As for your question about trash and bundles…

Cut and paste all your affected content out of the designated Plex folder. Then scan the library again to remove them from the database.
From the Plex Web interface, if you go to the three dots next to your library, select “advanced” you will see more options that include Empty Trash.
After you have emptied the trash, go to the server settings via the web interface, go down to Trouble Shooting and pick Clean Bundles. Then also pick Optimize Database.
Then, go back and copy ONE series back to the designated folder, and scan the library and see if it comes in correctly. Names and artwork may not be immediately visible when the scan is complete… always good to give it a few minutes.

I can’t remember exactly with wich version this all started but it’s not getting any better. Below is the way that I name the episodes.

More I update Plex, worst it’s getting.

/TV Shows
/From the Earth to the Moon (2018)
/Season 01
From the Earth to the Moon - s01e01.mp4

Since these are MP4 files they could have embedded metadata which is overriding the information provided by the online sources. To prevent that from occurring, try lowering “Local Movie Assets” in priority in your agents configuration under Settings → Agents → Shows → TheTVDB/The Movie Database:

Leave “Local Media Assets” enabled, but move it lower in the list than your other enabled sources. After that, perform the Plex Dance on the series in question:

Alternatively, edit the metadata tags in the files and ensure the information in there is correct or just delete them. And then do the Plex Dance.

Thanx for the effort but I do have all sorts of weird thing going on. This doesn’t only happens with *.mp4 but with mkv’s and avi’s too!

More likely, I do have some TV series missings episodes too!. These kind of stuff wasn’t happening too much in the previous versions but now, half of the time.

The metadata doesn’t get downloaded.

Thanx. Regards.

What show is this? The (excellent) series I’m aware of is 1998 - even if you have the remastered version.
