I have Season 1 of a particular show, and the metadata was incorrect. After adjusting it on the actual files, I can't get PLEX to update to the new & correct show name. Season & Episode is correct, but the show name is wrong. With the video files now fixed, is there a way that I can delete the metadata PLEX has already for Season 1, so as to force it to update? Doing the standard update isn't changing it on me.
Without forcing a complete refresh for the library with the Cogwheel, the easiest way to refresh a single series is to:
1) Move the series folder out of your TV Shows folder
2) Update the library ( just the little circle with an arrow in the top right)
3) Empty the trash (Removes entries that are no longer found such as your recently moved TV Show)
4) Clean the bundles (Removes the stored metadata from the entries removed in step 3)
5) Put your TV Show back in the TV Shows folder
6) Update the library ( you should see plex readd the item and attempt a clean match for the item)
The other option is to attempt to 'Fix incorrect match', To do this when you are inside the show (The screen where you can see the seasons) click the 3 dots on the left side('. . .') and select fix incorrect match. You should have the series popup in a list where you can reselect it.

i think what you are calling a "standard refresh" in step 2 is actually "update library" which only looks for new files and only works on a whole section
after step 3 you should have "Clean bundles" which is what actually deletes the stored metadata of trashed items so it cant be used again
however i would try a "refresh" of just the show first by clicking on the circle arrow on the left side action bar when in a show which is the same as a "force refresh" just not to a whole section

I’m having similar problems and I don’t know what to do anymore.
I’ve removed a series a few weeks ago, and now I want to re-add it but it doesn’t work, whatever I do. I’ve rescanned library, I’ve cleaned bundles, cleaned trash, refresh metadata, …
It doesn’t work, any other tips?
if those did not work and assuming the file is named properly. probably need to look at the scanner log to check PMS can even see the file or if ignoring it for some reason. after trying to add it and scanning the Plex Media Scanner.log is the one to look at.

If that is a TV show it will not work unless it has the S01E01 denoting season and episode number. Even if a single season mini-series it needs that.
TV libraries intentionally ignore files it does not see as a TV show file. and movies libraries will intentionally ignore files with that notation.
Change the Part 1 to S01E01 , Part 2 to S01E02 and so on.
also in general always put the year in parenthesis (though i don’t think this is causing issue)
