Hi all, been using Plex for about a year now and mostly been smooth sailing. Until about two weeks ago
Suddenly I realized that none of the new content I was dropping into my content folders was appearing. I’ve tried removing it to a “Staging” directory the dripping it back in one file at a time (with re-scans, reboots, etc in between) with no luck. I’ve Optimized and I’ve error-checked the HDD and done literally everything I’ve found here and elsewhere to get this to work.
I found a solution suggesting that I create a new Library and add just one or two directories to it - well Plex decided that “[My] Changes Could Not Be Saved”. Very helpful! So I can’t add a new library to “force” Plex to re-scan. And I’m also seeing that even though I have every automatic scan turned on, my Libraries are not updating themselves when I drop a new folder into “Music” or a new episode into a TV folder.
Then I remembered that around the same time frame, I installed two TV channel plugins. So I try to uninstall those, and “Plugin Could Not Be Uninstalled”.
I’ve been very conscientious about naming conventions, file/folder permissions and everything else I can think of or have seen suggested. I’m at my wit’s end… and it feels like Plex is slowly shutting me out of my server because it’s getting smarter than me.
Any help/advice etc would be hugely appreciated. I’ve spent a lot of time getting music playlists built and would really hate to lose those, but if a full-on from-scratch rebuild is what’s going to get me back up then so be it.
