Love Plexamp (but would be nice to have chromecast support)

I love the new Plexamp app. It is so much better than the regular Plex app for playing music. A couple of suggestions:

  1. Chromecast support, won’t really be able to use Plexamp until this is incorporated.
  2. Android Auto/Apple Carplay or improving the regular Plex app’s experience for that interface/functionality.
  3. I understand why this app is exclusive to Plex pass but I personally think it should be linked to a server with Plex pass. Otherwise, I would have to pay for Plex pass for all three people in my family or everyone would have to use my account just for this app which seems excessive.

Hi @Tombadog, regarding your third point, I haven’t tried it but you should be able to switch between users in a Plex Home once signed in with the server admin account. Go to Settings > Account > Switch User.

Yes, there doesn’t seem to be support for casting. Playing on my stereo over bluetooth doesn’t make me excited.

+1 for the Chromecast support. I really like the direction here Plex, with some renewed focus on us music streaming users. Chromecast is essential though if I am to use this app. Also need Chromecast Audio support since I use Chromecast Audio to stream to my outdoor speaker zone. Keep up the good efforts.

Casting abilities will be added in the future. No idea on timeline, but this will be coming.

I would like downloads to be better taking forever ti dl and it gets hung up and I have to refresh it quite a bit

I’ve only seen this issue when I turn screen off or Plexamp otherwise gets it’s background process killed by system.

Just adding another voice to the Chromecast choir, as nice as Plexamp is, it’s not very useful for me without the ability to cast.

+1 from here as well. PlexAMP is useless without it.

When you are at it, please fix chromecast support in the regular IOS app so it doesn’t take 30 sec+ to start playing, and PLEASE make the volumecontrol a lot more granular. It way to coarse now on the phone buttons. The slider in the app works, but has a lot of latency

Another +1 for casting support. Used to cast to PlexAmp on my PC from my phone in 1.1.0, and can’t do so anymore!

I love plexamp but i absolutely need support for Chromecast Audio too! Without this it’s useless to me…

Can’t wait for this feature, I was wondering if they were going to update the Android auto side with this also.
Sad there is no Google Assistant integration with any Plex.
