Love Plexamp (but would be nice to have chromecast support)

Yes, AA and CarPlay are in the works as well.

I love the idea behind PlexAmp but without casting and Sonos abilities, it will remain close to useless to me. I hope it is on the roadmap!

The Plex guys should talk to the guys over at Roon. I love the way they have implemented their player where you can setup different “endpoints” where the music will be played, once setup you have a list of options and each time you go in you just select where you want to listen, works great. Can be either on the local device itself(i.e. android phone, windows/mac box) or any supported device(Roon have partnered with many HiFi manufacturers) on the network, basically the “player” acts as a remote control. A lot of their stuff is proprietary but they support chromecast, airplay as well. Plexamp has potential but without casting it isn’t very exciting at this point. The problem with Roon for me is that it is prohibitively expensive for the casual music listener, if music was your main past time then it probably makes sense.

Also, is there a way to simply just browse through the library without searching? I.e. by album, artist, genre etc? Sometimes I don’t know what I want to hear so will just scroll through my library randomly picking things.

Count me in for Cast option on this great app! Also I would like to be able to sign into the app on all my devices so that I can sink them up. I don’t want to have to create the same play list on my Laptop and then on my Phone and then again on my Tablet… I should be able to link them to one account if I want so I can see my play list on all my devices but also have the option on say my wife’s phone to not link to my account so she can create whatever playlist she wants.

Can it be done??? Por favor?

I am open for it as well. I would need to get a device, but whatever. This is the feature I’ve been waiting for to come out for some time to have better transparency with my music. I just need a simple way to get it hooked up to my Hi-Fi system.

Can Chromecast support lossless audio?

I, for one, LOVE the AUSTERITY of the Plexamp design. It’s refreshingly modern and retro at the same time.

So while I understand the urgency to add Chromecast/AirPlay/CarPlay/AndroidAuto/Alexa/etc. to the app, I’d really love that to be an option that could be completely turned off UI-wise.

Heck, hide the file format i.e. FLAC and sample rate info as well. I think the overwhelming majority of Plexamp users know their library well enough to make that text redundant.

Reduce the height of the plexamp window (on desktop computers, that is).

But what if I love to see precisely 2 of my UP NEXT songs?

Hey All, I came here just to give a big +1 to pretty much every comment in this thread. I have never considered using Plex for music before… I tried it here and there, and it never worked quite right for me. I LOVE Plexamp. I think it needs a lot of work, but if you can add Chromecast support, and do it like Roon does it with different endpoints, I’m so in… I loaded up Roon and Plex last night. The Plex app is so wonderful, from a design perspective, but let me do whole home audio plz! And Tidal integration!

I spent today on Psy-Trance radio and for the first time, I have had full transparency to push up oldies in my collection. It was a simply amazing afternoon with Plexamp running my music selection.

Chromecast support should be obligatory these days, however a good work around on Mac OSX is to use “Airfoil”. With its support for Chromecast and Airplay, all with multi room mix and match options it does the job superbly.

I assume your Sonos devices are older and don’t allow AirPlay?

Yes indeed!
