It means that the mobile plex client can’t cast a local file. Plex is strictly client/server, so the file would have to be homed on the plex server for you to chromecast it.
You can chromecast local files from your mobile device with other players.
Exactly what became intuitive with my use of using other players. DoubleTwist, MediaMoney, etc. that were capable of off-line casting.
One work around (not the greatest) which I just tested and it did work, is go into Google Home and select the device you want to cast to and click on “Cast my audio” and then when it pops up and says “Cast to mirror device” click Cast audio.
I just noticed that the latest version 3.4.3 seems to have fixed the cast to Sonos issue. I can now cast from my phone or my tablet to my Sonos Connect.
