Please extend a bit: what do you want to “monitor any control”?
Are you referring to “Casting” or simply to monitor usage (e.g. who is playing what and where)?
No, different to casting which I understand to be sending a stream to non-Plex clients (e.g. Airplay, Chromecast).
I mean the ability to remotely control what another PlexAmp client it playing, zone control really.
That’s ‘Plex Companion’ in general.
Other casting technologies are only supported partially, namely Chromecast which only works when using the Chrome web browser or Android mobile as the controller app.
Sonos is another which required implementing a different approach and has its own limitations and quirks.
Which one of these will be implemented in Plexamp is not totally clear yet. But Plex Companion support will come. (sorry, no date)
Nice, that will be a massive feature, can’t wait.
Mix builder is giving multiple artist entries. I think it’s due to multiple music folders. Is there anyway to tell which folder is associated with artist?
Pearl Jam
Pearl Jam
Pearl Jam
There is not. You shuld simply merge those 3 entries.
After all, it is all about the music, not where the music is stored
Thanks for the response. I would like to create a mix from a folder that i created that has only live music to do that I need to know what folder is associated with the artist.
Any one else having issues with playing back music on their iPhones? Have the iPhone SE And it constantly pauses and I have to hit play for the song to continue, sometimes it happens randomly other times does it repeatedly.
Just an update, I was able to fix it by removing and reinstalling the app, seems like the cache was corrupt, just in case someone else has this problem.
Hi,
after some days of using Plexamp: Congrats to Plex for making this App, I think is a very good step towards removing the need of Music App. Look and feel, experience and soon is very good for this new 3.0 version. Here’s my list of needed features to really move from Apple’s Music (what I’m really looking for):
Most important:
- Siri support: to move from Music, this is the crucial since many of us use Siri to ask for songs, authors, play lists,…
- Carplay: Very important too. full integration is needed to remove the need from Music
Other things:
- Lists: The support of lists seems no first citizen and would be good to be able to create a List from this app instead to go to Plex server or something like that.
- Plex Mix: this is needed too.
Thanks and keep the good work!
Doesn’t it already support PlexMix? Or, at least, the modern version of PlexMix. What are you looking for? Mix Builder is pretty solid.
Maybe I’m wrong and don’t know how to reach to it…
Explore the items under ‘Stations’.
Can someone, please, told me how can I stop playing music?
I have to use pause. There’s no stop button.
EDIT: I got it. Keep pressed pause.
Why do you need to stop? What’s wrong with Pause? The song has been cached in full anyway.
A long press on Pause will do, while playing.
I also love it! The only thing that I have noticed so far, is that I would like to see if being able to download my complete playlists that are longer than 24 hours. That way when I go on road trips, I will never be disconnected from my music and not have to be using cell data or lose music when I go through the mountains.
I love it. It’s my go-to player outside my home network and the integration with Tidal is great. So huge thanks to the devs.
As a Roon user, I think Plexamp is the music player to otherwise beat, but clearly multi-room audio and the ability to add Plexamp to a set of Raspberry Pis would be the cherry on top. Considering Roon costs $119 annually, I would pay as much for a comparable enough experience in Plexamp to Roon - and I doubt I am alone amongst Roon users in this opinion.
But anyhow, when the music player is this good, but also for audio, aesthetics and the whole package, why not put it within Plex? It would save having a separate app - and (whisper it) the Plexamp logo is way better.
Thanks again for such an awesome app.
Would be great if Hey Siri could be incorporated into the Plexamp app
Hey I downloaded the app it looks good except for 1 thing. I have multiple music libraries and Plexamp only sees the first 1.
Keep up the good work
E
A stereo crossfeed option would be a great additio to plexamp.
