Hello All,
I’m not proficient at searching through forums, so forgive me if this is an issue that is repetitive.
I run a Plex home server on a windows computer. I stream to my home TV through the Plex application. The TV will play 1080p BR video files just fine but 480p DVD quality videos appear to play at 10fps (video information shows 30fps). In the video settings I have to change the video quality to “convert automatically” in order for the 480p videos to display at a normal 30fps.
All videos are Direct Play as MKV files. Streaming settings on the server and player are set to “Maximum”. I know it’s not a hardware limitation of the server, barely uses any recourses when playing BR videos.
*Actually, after changing setting in the Plex server in an attempt to figure out what might be causing the problem and reverting all setting back after nothing helped. Whenever I select “convert automatically” for the video quality I get the error message “Unable To Play Media” and the video closes. So, I screwed up my only means to watch the lower resolution videos at a decent framerate.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
