Hi,
I’m running plex app on my Xbox series S and encounter playback at lower resolution than the original file.
My internet connection is 1gbps upload around 100mbps.
Plex server is running on Win 10 with following hardware:
Intel Core i7-6770HQ CPU @ 2.60Ghz 2.59GHz
16 GB of RAM
I see in the log on screen that there is a transcoding process:
Codec hevc → h264
Resolution: 3840x1600 → 720x300
Bitrate: 14.9 Mbps → 1.7 Mbps
Decision: cannot direct stream. video bitrate is greater than allowed quality setting.
Direct play not available; conversion OK.
direct play and direct stream enabled in app.
I dont understand why I can’t get a stream in 4K res. Also tried with another app with LG WebOS and same behavior.
Stream is fine in plex app in my computer delivering 4K,
What setting do I need to change in order to stream 4K?
I feel like there is inherited limitation that prevents system to deliver high res stream and it’s definately has nothing to do with my internet speed.
