I was dissatisfied with the performance of Plex on my (admittedly old) Synology NAS so decided to move to a Mac mini M1. Performance is great, but I noticed quite a few movies didn’t get added (they got added fine to the NAS Plex server) - the console log shows an error retrieving a wmv2 codec. Is there anything I can do to fix this myself?

SSL errors are something you need to look into, I would check for date/time issues or DNS rebinding protection
If the media is still on the Synology, also review the thread linked below.
There is a problem with SMB in the current version of MacOS. If you’ve many (1000+) movies in the library, Plex may not find all of them.
As a workaround, you can modify a SMB config file on the Mac or use NFS instead.

Having a very unusual situation that I hope someone can shed light on.
Updated to MacOS 15. I know. I know. Wait. But I ran a test on another machine to make sure everything worked. And it did. So I updated my main Plex Mac. For a few hours all was fine.
Then…
On my TV Shows library (which is on two Synology NAS devices) it sporadically stopped updating new files and said some files were unavailable but I could still play them. And when I clicked to see…
