MacBook i5 2017 Playback is choppy and poor

Long time Plex user, just picked up this MacBook and Plex Player video playback is awful. Jerky and choppy playback and most video types. No idea why as i am new to macs.

Anyway I installed Infuse and added Plex through that it all plays perfectly.

Any ideas why Plex is so bad?
