Apple TV playback unreliable with Plex Player

As my Infuse subscription comes to and end I wanted to try Plex Player for Apple TV again but it is very unreliable.

  • videos start very slow to start, while transcoding is off.
  • audio is muting at a random point somewhere in the first minutes of a video.

In comparison, Plex is fast in being up to date while Infuse (set up with Plex Server is slower). But Infuse is reliable and lighting fast with starting video and never has audio problems.
A few years back I tried to use Plex Player again but it has also these kinds of problems.

Is Plex just unreliable or could I tweak settings to have it run ‘normal’?
