Macos Client broken for almost a year for amd gpus?

So there’s this bug right now on 1.62.2.3451-fb8ac0ae that makes the app have a completely blank screen when launched if you have an amd gpu. It doesn’t matter if you nuke all the settings in ~/Library/Application Support/Plex, meaning it’s the default starting state for a new user to the app. It’s probably been around for 9 months or so and seems to have started in 1.44.

The stopgab solution is not that bad, but for users to even find this fix, you have to do a lot of digging. The proposed solution is not archived on google for some reason, at least for me. You can google word for word “We think this may be related to AMD GPU and UI. Can you edit the” and nothing comes up. I only stumbled upon it from a reddit post

The user’s first interaction should not be an hour of debugging, google sleuthing and editing ini files.

This should only affect the UI, not playback.

I’m not 100% sure what “only affects the UI” means, but if he means that the UI / QT layer will not be gpu accelerated but the playback still would be, then why not just turn it off for all macos clients, or at the very least check for AMD gpus at on the first load to disable it.
