Was this an update or a first time run? Other have mentioned this as well and would like to add the app logs after launching to bug report if you are willing to share them (you can message them to me)
It was actually working fine until one day it suddenly started launching to blank screen. I dont believe there was any Plex client or macOS update in between.
I would be happy to give you a bug report, but im not sure how to access when my UI is blank?

Compress / zip the logs directory and upload to the thread or send them via private message.
To upload to the thread, drag the zip file into the message window. It will insert at the cursor location.
To send as a private message, click on the person’s name, then Message.

And now that im looking through the logs myself, i have to say it’s entirely possible that this started happening to me after i installed imagemagick via brew ![]()
I started experiencing the same issue, which I will outline:
Could you try quitting the app then deleting or moving to desktop the plex.ini file in ~/Library/Application Support/Plex/plex.ini then restarting the app.
No change after moving plex.ini
@BigWheel this is the same issue in the other threads that we have been reporting for the last week! You reply here but you cannot reply to us to let us know if anyone is even working on this issue? I am not sure what your background is but all of these issues are linked together! They are all the same problem! Are there any engineers actually working on the problem? Can we all get an update please? Make link all of these threads together so that everyone reporting the same issue sees the replies? Here’s the 4 total threads all reporting the same problem with the same computers (MacPro 6,1 2013 Trashcan) and the same client version:

Also no change moving plex.ini
Could just be circumstantial, but it’s worth noting that i also have Adobe Create Cloud. But i do have auto-updates disabled and have not run any updates (to my knowledge)
I see no connection with Adobe. I do not have it. I see this issue as Plex self made issue. They made an update and forced it on the users (us).
I mean to ask if any of y’all have tried Plex HTPC and if you are having same issue with it.

We think this may be related to AMD GPU ind UI. Can you edit that same plex.ini file can add the line disableGPU=1 to the [General] section which should be at top of the file then restart the app. This should only affect the UI, not playback.

My McTrashBot is happily able to get past the grey startup screen.
Mac 6,1, macOS 10.14.6
64 GB 1066 MHz DDR3
3.7 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon E5
AMD FirePro D300 2 GB
Adding disableGPU=1 worked perfectly.
This didn’t work for me on my Mac Studio. However, uninstalling Plex and reinstalling it did.
I have a theory that I can’t prove. I briefly had a second monitor, and ran Plex on it. I think removing that monitor left Plex in a state where it thought it had to play on the non-existent monitor, and there was no way I could access the UI.
Just a theory.
