I was having trouble with my plex media server. After researching and trouble shooting the problem I decided to delete my PMS. It took some doing but I followed the directions and deleted all the folders manually as well as the application from my files. I shut the computer down let it sit for like a minute and then restarted it. I downloaded a new fresh version of the PMS from the Plex.TV site and went to install it. At the end of the installation, it opened up PMS on a web version not in the app I just installed. So I deleted everything again per the instructions on the plex website for MacOS and it happened a second time. I did it one more time to be sure and it happened a third time?
Does anyone know why this is happening and how to stop it from opening in safari so I can use the actual app?
Thank you for your reminder. Its been so long since I set up I forgot that. The problem now is I seem to have 2 accounts with the same email. One account connected to the plex package on my synology NAS account and one connected to Plex.Tv. I have no idea how this happened but one has my my NAS plex serve on it and the other one does not. I have no idea how this happens and as you might expect I have no idea how to fix this. When I try to log into my Plex through the pcaneg on my synology NAS I get this message “This application is at 192.168.50.234 and is not hosted by Plex. Continue only if you recognize this server and wish to grant access.” At this point my plex is useless which is not fun since I paid for a lifetime pass. There is not support so I am stuck begging for help online hoping I have explained it right.
Ok, I have more information. It seem that when I love into plex online via my Synology was everything works fine. The problem is there is some disconnect when I login into Plex.TV. I think it has something to do with the ip address but I am not sure. BTW, pcaneg is a type for package. Also, 192.168.50.234 is my Synology NAS Plex Server IP. For some reason this is not matching the one that Plex.TV is looking for which keep my set up from being recognized on the web. So how do I change what IP the web is looking for?
