Plex Server will not open on mac using safari browser

Plex Media server used to work fine on this computer, but for months now I haven’t been able to use it. When I tell it to open to takes me to a Safari web page. I try and log in and all I get is a “There was an error signing in” and I can’t get any further. Oddly, I can open Plex Server using another browser such as Opera or Chrome and I am able to see my server’s content on my AppleTV. Plex was set up to open automatically upon login and something screwed up in February after a Plex Server update and since then I just get the stupid error message every time I try to log in using Safari.

Try clearing the website data for:
localhost
127.0.0.1
plex.tv

They can be found in Safari -> Preferences -> Privacy -> Manage Website Data. This will delete any Safari caching/local storage for these domains. It may be that something which is cached is causing issues.

As philipsw said Clear all website data. If that fails try opening Plex with the following address directly in a browser

https://app.plex.tv/desktop#

Tried it, Still the same results

Thanks for your suggestion. Tried entering the web address directly but still the same result. Does anyone else have a suggestion or solution? I still can’t open Plex on Safari

Hello again,
