Server Version#:1.25.3 (whatever the most recent is)
Windows 10
I have been using plex for years with no problem but a couple of days ago it just stopped working for me. when I right-click the quick access icon in the taskbar and click open plex on the host computer, as I’ve done for years, it now opens the browser tries to open plex, and then gives me the “Plex is not reachable” screen.
Not only can I not access my library, or the server in general, from the host computer I can’t even access the plex.tv website on it. To get to the website I have to google plex and click the link in the search results. I can’t just put it in the address bar and go, if I do it just spins. When I get to the site I can’t log into plex because the account login popup pops up but is blank. I can’t even sign into the plex forums on that computer. As far as I know, I have no problems with any other websites just plex things and I’ve tried multiple browsers.
Now if I log in on other devices like another computer or my phone (android running the latest version) I can log in but only have access to the plex streaming media nothing from my library. It tells me I have no library and need to add media, which of course I can’t do since I’m not on the host PC with all of my media at that time.
Here’s the kicker anyone that I’ve given access to my plex can see everything and use my server just fine, it’s just my account and the host PC/server that’s messing up. I’ve restarted the PC, uninstalled plex and reinstalled the latest version (that I had to download from another PC and transfer to the host because it can’t access the download page)
I don’t know what my other options are any help would be greatly appreciated
If you can’t access plex.tv website, that is the core issue.
I would recommend the using the following DNS servers, 9.9.9.9, 1.1.1.1, 8.8.8.8
If that doesn’t work go to command prompt and run, then reboot.
netcfg -d
Once it boots backup you will want to reconfigure a static IP address on your computer.
If that still doesn’t work provide the output of the following from the command prompt.
tracert app.plex.tv
route print
Have you tried another browser?
