I’m not sure when it started, but it has become extremely annoying when trying to navigate between episodes of a TV show.
From the “On Deck” on the home screen, I’ll select a TV show that I’ve been currently watching. It takes me to the episode screen, but if I now click next episode, it takes me to the next TV show that was on the home screen and not the next episode of show I’m on. If I wanted to switch shows, I’d go back to the home screen and do it.
So, I then get myself to the season list for the show and go to episode 10 for example. After watching episode 10, I click next episode and it goes back to 1. Then I have to click next episode 10 times to get back to episode 11 or click back to get to the season list and scroll all the way down to 11. After that, it may do it again or maybe not. It’s never consistent. I’ve even seen it jump all the way back to season 1, episode 1 from season 5.
If I mark an episode as watched, go to the next episode and watch it, afterward it returns me back to the one I marked as watched. If I mark 3 episodes as watched in order to skip them, it always returns me back 3 episodes from where I just watch.
For one version release, I could use the next/prev chapter buttons on the XBox Media remote to switch episodes. Then it went away on the next release and I have to navigate to the buttons on the top of the screen again.
Some of these problems have been around since the original XBox One release of Plex. I can’t understand how your developers don’t see these problems before making releases.
I really love Plex and use it on Chrome, iPhone, iPad, Windows 10, and on my XBox. Just wish it wasn’t so hard to switch episodes reliably on the XBox.
Actually, just noticed it jumps to the on-deck next show on my iPhone as well instead of the next episode when I navigate to the next. This is very wrong.
