Make field locking states more intuitive

When editing lockable fields, it’s not clear which state the field is in (locked or unlocked). This could be made more intuitive if the glyph toggled between a locked and unlocked state (instead of yellow and black) and fields in locked state were greyed out and un-editable. As it is now, fields can be edited in both states, which to me is confusing.

I checked to make sure this wasn’t a duplicate request. Apologies if this has already been suggested!

The orange ‘lock’ icon does not indicate that the field is not ‘editable’.
Rather it indicates, that your manual edits are not overwritten during ‘refreshes’ from Plex’s online metadata servers.

Agreed, but it’s not a bad idea to change it to what the OP suggests. If the field is locked so that it can’t be edited by me, it’s much more intuitive to the user that it won’t be edited by refreshes. I think I like this idea.

Would also be nice if the indicator was a locked lock vs an unlocked lock…

That would make things a little more clear… as what is locked vs unlocked…
