i think it would be a nice feature to make the iOS remote bidirectional.
that means if a movie is running on a device allow the remote to ‘pick up’ which movie it is
and display the metadata and allow browsing in the internet about this movies.

It’d be nice to have a “Now Playing” with queue integration or something similar featured.

It could also “pick up” the actual volume and the progress of the running movie/tvshow/song or playlist.

I would very much love to see this.
Would be great to also have the ability to change audio/subtitles directly via the iOS/Android client, rather than using the directional buttons to navigate the on screen GUI.

this should work for iOS and for Android, too
Apparently I can't 'like' the topic, so I'm posting instead.
This would be a fantastic side-dish to info on who's playing what, and it feels like it could easily use the same API when it's developed.
This feature would be indeed be awesome but I would ask that it be implemented on all the mobile clients... there are in actuality more Android users in the world than IOS users. We shouldn't be left out in the cold...

Yep, that.
I do have a Plex/HT sitting here that is headless for most of the time (audio playback) and I find it highly inconvenient having to switch to a XBMC remote app to see what is currently playing. So I would really appreciate if this XBMC feature would make it into the Plex/MS centric world of Plex.
