Managed libraries not showing up on Home screen

I have read about and think I understand the Managed Libraries function, but it’s not working for me.

  • I have all of my libraries checked to show up on Home screen and Global search under the Visibility settings of each one.

  • I have a checkmark in the “Recently Added” boxes for Home and Shared User’s Home for each library.

  • I have every library pinned.

My Home screen is ONLY showing “Continue Watching” and “Recent Playlists” - that’s it.

What am I missing, please? :slight_smile:

Also, side note, I wanted to add my Collections to the Home screen but when I click the overflow dots, there is NO option for Visible On as stated in the documentation.

You need to pin libraries to the home screens side bar if you want their recommend rows to show up on the home screen.

restart your server.

Yes, sorry - I added that to my initial post just as you answered.

ALL of my libraries are pinned on the side bar.

Go to the manage library settings and click on Managed recommendation for one of the libraries. are the rows you want for that library checked in the home screen column?

Yes. As stated, I have the “Recently Added” checkbox marked for ‘Home’ and ‘Shared Users Home’ for each one.

I also restarted and still do not see “Visible On” as an option for any of my Collections. :frowning:

Here’s something weird. I checked ALL of the boxes under Home for my Movies library and every row shows EXCEPT for “Recently Added” - the only one I really want.

Can you hit Reset Customizations at the bottom of that library and tell me if anything changes

Yes, that literally did nothing since all I had checked was Recently Added for Home and User’s Home. It just looked like it refreshed real quick but no changes.

I can choose any other checkbox and those rows will show up except for Recently Added under my other libraries.

BUT, I also have a 3D movies library (which I had unchecked on purpose) and when I clicked that checkbox for Recently Added to show up, it shows my Movies library!! wth? Is it confusing one with the other? I’m lost, Bigwheel.

P.S. I have tried it in Opera, Chrome and Edge and it’s the same.
I also logged into a second normal account that I use to see what others see and the only thing on THAT Home screen is Continue Watching and Recently Added TV. (sigh)

if you have two movies libraries with “recently added Films” and “recently added 3D Films” it will combine them into one “recently added Movies” that will be positioned in the group of rows for the top most pinned movie library. )

So you had the Recently added for 3D movies unchecked and the one for regular movies checked and the Merge Recently added enabled? was the 3D movie library pinned above the other? It may be a bug but want to try to reproduce first.

Yes to everything you said and yes, it was pinned above everything. But, I had Recently Added Movies checkboxed the whole time and nothing showed up until I checkboxed it under the 3D movies library.

Even now that it’s working with the Merged option turned off, the merge option is still working. I have a movie in my “Continue Watching” row that I didn’t finish last night so…weird.

It’s all working now. Do you want me to try anything else? I’m good. :slight_smile:
