Managed user Account Issues

Hello,

I invited my sister to my plex account as a managed user. She accepted the invite, and was able to log in and use my plex server with no issues. However in my Home tab, it was showing that she had never accepted the invite, and that it was still Pending. As a result, I could not set a PIN for her or anything.

I decided to remove her from the Plex Home, in hopes of re-inviting her. However, any new invitations would not be received in her email. I then thought that there might just be something wrong with her account, so I logged into her account and “deleted” it from her side, in hopes that I could simply re-invite her, and she could re-setup her account from scratch.

However, the problem is now, she cannot recreate her account because it says the email address is in use, and she also does not receive any “password reset” emails from Plex either.

Yes we checked her spam folders, and its been a few days since the account was deleted so I’m assuming any changes would have taken effect by now.

Any suggestions?

When you delete an account, you’ll be shown a message which says that you cannot re-use the email address for a month.

Do you want the deleted account restored? If so, send me the email address per PM.

Btw a real “managed” account doesn’t need an email address, because it simply uses yours.

Thank you for restoring the account, however the original problem still exists. My sister can now log into plex, but cannot see my libraries/server, and I don’t see a way of sending her a new invite.

You created an actual managed user with a username that is the same as your sister’s email address, right?
Does this managed user still appear here? https://app.plex.tv/desktop#!/settings/users-sharing

Do you see it when you do ‘Switch User’?

If yes, then simply delete her.
Afterwards, invite her properly. Not by creating a managed user, but by “Invite home user”.

If you however cannot see her, I will ask someone to look at your account.
