Managed Users Can't Cast to Sonos

I have read all the related threads I could find and found no solution :cry: so I am bringing this back to life.

I use the Sonos system at home for all my music casting via Spotify, etc. When I found out about PlexAmp, I danced a little jig, cos finally all my electic MP3s/music that aren’t available on streaming services will gain a new lease of life!

But alas, Plex only allows me as the Admin to cast to the Sonos speakers, my wife and 2 kids with their Managed User accounts, cannot see or select the Sonos as an option to cast music to.

Essentially, when the user is the admin, i.e. the account that pays for the Plex Pass, then the Sonos can be selected and music played on it from the Plex app on iOS - happy days. However, switch to a managed user (which is a premium feature) and the Sonos no longer appears in the devices list for casting to.

This is a problem because I have age appropriate content for my young daughters which I allow them to access via Plex using their managed accounts. It would be great if they could take advantage of the Sonos system for their kids bops.

I hope I am simply missing a configuration setting that will enable this to work for managed accounts? Or it is a feature omission that will be addressed soonest?

Thanks in advance…

I believe this is a ā€œfeatureā€¦ā€ only the PlexPass holder can stream to Sonos. It frustrates me, and hopefully someone from Plex can inform us when all members of a household can stream from the Plex app direct to Sonos. (For example, the artist radio feature does not work direct from the Sonos app… at least as far as I know)

I’d like this too. I separate my ā€œAdminā€ and ā€œWatchingā€ accounts, which means I can’t even use that feature as myself.

I had separated mine too, then I realised only the ā€œAdminā€ can cast to Sonos, so now I use the Admin account :unamused:
