Manual library management broken on Android Shield Plex client

Turning off automated management of Plex libraries to manually manage (rearrange libraries and hide some hubs) on Shield Pro 19 Plex client is making Continue Watching section disappear from Home screen and removing wrong hubs. No issue when leaving automated management on.

I am encountering an issue on the Plex client app (not server) on the Shield Pro 19 when trying to reorder the libraries and hide some hubs. When I click on the “…” next to Home then click Edit Home Screen it asks me if I want to manually manage. I click Disable (Manually Manage) and the Manage Home Screen screen comes up. On that screen the “Continue Watching” hub option disappears from the list of hubs after a split second. It is not lower in the list or anything, just gone.

On top of that, when I try to remove the “recently added” hubs for all the libraries I don’t want that for by clicking them, it removes hubs I am not clicking. For example, clicking on the Recently Added TV Shows hub for 4K TV Shows removes the hub for the TV Shows. Even if I accept that and save, Continue Watching is no longer on my Home screen above On Deck when there is a partially finished show that should be there.

I do not see the issue when accessing my server directly through IP on laptop (server on QNAP NAS). Issue is only on Plex client on Shield Pro 19. Can this be fixed?

Yes, Home Screen is really broken in 8.12. Lots of posts about that. If Home Screen is really important to you, go back to 8.11. That’s what I did, for the home screen and other reasons. Based on the sorry state of everything plex at the moment, I’m doubtful whether they’ll have home screen working properly before 2022. And I expect they’ll “improve” it in a way that no one wants.
