So I know a soccer game is on in 5 mins. I know the channel, who is playing, what league etc… I cant find it in the guide no matter what I type. How can I still record it? Is there any manual recording option that I could just say this channel at this time? Something else?

No, and there really should be. There are several problems like this in Plex DVR that basically assume the EPG is infallible and give you no alternative.

Sports recording has been real bad. Even when I get the EPG representation of a game (ie: MLB Baseball), the resulting recording is only 15 - 30 minutes long. TV Shows and Movies record fine but Sports is poor at best.

Is there any reason why a manual record option would be hard to implement? Without it you really can’t depend on this full time.
I second this - I would like to have a manual recording option that allows you to select by channel or override a given scheduled selection by EPG to specify channel, start time and duration. Furthermore, I would like there to be a (universal?) segmentation option so that you can designate the maximum streaming duration or file size to record before the DVR closes and opens a second file (part 1, part 2, etc.). This is a wonderful feature with all KINDS of potential but it needs a little more flexibility to be great.
Manual recording would let me bypass the clueless EPG, which doesn’t know about re-runs here (missed them later the same night and now again, two weeks later).
