I manually enter the IP and port of PMS on all my clients. Does the PS3 app have this functionality?

Unfortunately not. The PS3 app currently detects the server location and connects to it using the Plex.tv service so for it to work you have to:

  1. have your PMS signed in
  2. have remote access available
  3. DO NOT set “Secure Connections” to “Required”
  4. sign in and link the PS3
  5. be online whenever you use the app on the PS3
