I just bought a synology NAS and setup Plex server. I haven’t paid for plex yet so I’m using whatever the basic services allow. On my PS3, i downloaded the Plex app, started it up, logged in and added my server ip manually (also using default port). I still can’t find the media server through the Plex app. My phone connects to my Plex server using the same manual ip process without issues. My PS3 can also browse my NAS and play content through the media server options, which can see both the Synology media server and Plex as a media server. Why wouldn’t I be able to connect using the Plex app on the same device?
Looks like secure connection preferences don’t show up until sign in occurs. Now I can see it from my ps3.
