Manually selecting another track/album fails to play if another track is already playing

Devices: SHIELD TV P2897 (2017) & SHIELD TV P3430 (2019)

When music is playing on the Shield and we browse to another album and select play, it just sits there with time on 0:00. The previous song stops.

I initially thought its buffering the song and/or is unable to play it due to NAS being busy but restarting Plex Player resolved the issue on the same album immediately.

Have had this issue for years, even after a fresh install. Hoping someone may be able to relate so this can be reported as a bug or I can fix it on my end. The Plex server is running on the Shield, connected via SMB v3 to HP switch and then 4 gig link to the Synology NAS.
