Many of my trailers (in Trailers subfolders) have disappeared

Server Version 1.17.0.1841 (I had to roll back from 1.18 a few days ago because 1.18 update was causing big problems).

When I added a few more movies lately I noticed that Plex was not showing the locally-stored extras (particularly, trailers) associated with some of those newly-added movies. I checked a few of the pre-existing movies and saw that they were still displaying the extras as before. However, since then I’ve done more checking and it seems about half of the ones I’ve checked still show the extras, and half no longer do.

All of these extras files are contained in subfolders with the proper names (e.g., “Trailers”, “Featurettes”, “Scenes”, “Interviews” etc.) per the instructions I’ve found, and I can’t detect any difference in the file/folder naming structure for the ones that still work and the ones that don’t.

I’ve tried doing the “Plex Dance” for a couple of the movies having the problem, but it had no effect. I’ve also tried changing various agent settings for my movie library, and refreshing all the metadata after each change, and emptying the trash, and cleaning the bundles, but nothing seems to have worked. And now there’s probably a good chance that I’ve changed something wrong and forgotten how to change it back.

Does anyone have any idea why some would work and some (with exactly the same naming structure) wouldn’t work? And can anybody explain exactly how the agent settings should be set to make this work consistently?

What client are you using when you experience this behavior?
Could it be this is single-trailer movies and the trailer is “hidden” under the trailer icon instead of being part of the extras list?

I’m seeing this both on my web browser/PC (Chrome) and on my Roku TV players.

I’ll have to check that trailer icon thingy, but some of the ones that are working only have a single trailer in that folder, and at least some of the ones that aren’t working are missing other extras as well (Featurettes, Scenes, etc.) and not just trailers.

[EDIT] I don’t see any such trailer icon so I can’t try that anyway - perhaps that’s because I don’t use any of the features about playing trailers from the Internet before my movies? The only trailers I have/use are the ones that came off the DVDs, which I put in the trailers subfolders.

Well, curiouser and curiouser…

THEY’RE BAAAAACK!

Not sure what did it, but something about the last set of agent settings changes, refreshing metadata, cleaning bundles etc. seems to have done the trick, more or less. All the ones I’ve checked so far seem to have had their extras returned, at least on the Roku players - for some reason, at least a couple of them still don’t show up on the PC’s web browser, even though they are there on the Roku. Weird.
