Is there a way that will list what tracks on a TV series DVD corresponds to the correct episode? I have all the episodes of a TV series ripped and in the format that Plex will download the information. But then when the episode starts some of them are obviously not what the description says.
Is there a way to fix this? Other than watching every episode several times to find out what it should be??
Is it possible that you have a TV series that has a different order for DVD than the order they were aired? There are several shows like that. Look up the series here, http://thetvdb.com/?tab=advancedsearch and then navigate to the season and click the DVD order button near the bottom. If the make sense that way, you can tell the TVDB agent to use the DVD order for that series. >>> Edit … Advanced … Episode Airing
Some TV Shows have episode names and some even display that name right after the ‘open teaser/Show Intro’ - right where they start listing quest stars, producers, director and such. IMDb can be useful in finding and matching guest stars to the correct episode, but matching will take place at TVDB so that is the final authority.
It’s kinda important to name these things when you get them/create them, but if you’re dealing with The Wombat Squad encodes out there ‘in the world’, you’re on your own discovery mission many times. Wombats don’t read TVDB and even if they did they wouldn’t care about getting the name right.
I did check out thetvdb.com for that season, and noticed something odd:
It seems there are 2 episode 21’s. Would that be causing a problem with my listing? In my listing on the server it has episode 11 listed as “Unearthed”. In the screenshot above, it’s not 11…
What can I do about this??
That’s not the right ‘view’ and you’re not reading it right. The leftmost column says the first ‘21’ is in season one, the second is in season two. That ‘view’ is confusing - to say the least.
Unless you absolutely, positively need to use the DVD order (Firefly, for instance) you should always try to use the standard listing.
