Mark Forum Read / Bold Title Significance?

Is there a way to actually mark all the forum posts as having been read? I have managed to locate a button called Dismiss New (forget the exact wording now), in a VERY obscure location, but it doesn’t seem to actually mark anything as read? All it appears to do is just reset the new post counter, leaving everything still unread.

Running in dark mode here just for reference… I know that when I view a posting, then leave that posting, the subject line text turns from bright white to a darker grey color, presumably marking that post as read. Is there actually a way to mark everything as read without physically going into EVERY SINGLE post? That seems like a very basic function for any forum software, but I’m just not finding it!

Somebody clue me in here!

Unfortunately not, and the makers of the forum software are very resistant to implementing it, for reasons passing understanding.

Wow, OK. Thanks for the reply, it’s definitely NOT the answer I was hoping for.

Amazing how such a basic thing is not available. While there is the NEW button at the top of each area, It would be so much easier to clean up and visually keep track of things that are new by being able to “dim” the subject lines of the junk I have no interest in. :man_shrugging:

The things under Unread are topics that your forum account is watching or tracking with posts you have not read. If there are new post in those topics it will show there with a number of how many post you have not read yet.

You can set how things are automatically tracked or watched in your forum profiles notification settings https://forums.plex.tv/my/preferences/notifications

if you don’t care about a particular category or tag you can mute it and it won’t show up
