Every once in a while I get notifications for activity in threads that I read at one point, but never posted in or marked to follow. When I check the status of the thread, it says something like ‘Marked as Tracking because you read this topic.’
I don’t know why it does this at all, and I really don’t understand why it only does it occasionally. If there’s some obscure setting that controls this, can you look into it? Simply reading a thread should not cause it to elevate the tracking status.
I can poke around a bit – can you provide the url to a thread where this happened?
I just got the same thing and not because he posted a link i responded too- It shot me an email saying because I read this Im now tracking it, while I never actually read this thread before getting the notification. Never seen this happen before
Do you have auto track topics i enter set with a time in your notification settings? Set it to never to disable
This is that setting. It must be a default. I didn’t know that setting existed.
