I just noticed this issue last night.
Doing some troubleshooting as others have alluded to. I see these errors in the TVDB agent log files related to SSL when requesting image metadata:
2019-11-18 18:06:32,835 (7f6ed37fe700) : INFO (init:1078) - <urlopen error [SSL: SSLV3_ALERT_HANDSHAKE_FAILURE] sslv3 alert handshake failure (_ssl.c:590)>
My hunch is that thetvdb is updating its infrastructure and may be reconfiguring its app servers to disallow https over SSLv3 (hopefully because that cipher suite is broken).
Hard to know without doing further digging whether this TVDB agent that is offering SSLv3 and the TVDB disallowing or the other way around. My guess is it’s on the TVDB side upgrading as others have mentioned a browser UI facelift for TVDB…I thought the metadata agent source code was public…I remember looking at it…but I can’t seem to find it anymore…? Was going to go have a look at the TVDB agent source.
