With the last couple of updates this problem seems to have crept in.
The problem occurring is as follows:
- Open a video to play and play it. Maximize the window so that the player uses the whole screen.
- Pause the player and get out of maximize mode. Lets say that you want to use your windows computer for something else quickly.
- Multitask back to plex. Press play and try to maximize. You can’t. The screen freezes up. Only way to get back to a maximized viewing experience is to close plex and start it again. What this means is that you can only maximize plex once when it comes to video playing. If you take it out of maximized mode and try to go back it is not possible due to some bug? The video playing freezes up and is not watchable.

Two months later and not a reply to this… guees nobody is using the plex player for windows?

This is driving me nuts. I’ve tried it on another different PC and the same result. (Windows 7)
Strange that Plex keeps on bringing updates for this player but this problem is not being fixed. Update after update but no fix?
Below is a youtube link that shows what the problem is, if the people at Plex even bothers checking this forum:

Maximize PMP itself, before starting playback.

But some times I need to stop/pause what I’m watching and do something else on the computer.

              Admitted, this inconvenient then.
However, if you have a full keyboard in front of you, there are some very useful shortcuts you can use, without needing to quit the fullscreen mode of PMP:
- Alt+Tab to step to the next open program window. Press repeatedly on Tab to step further.
- Windows+Tab to get an overview of open apps side-by-side
- tap on the Windows key to open the start menu
- Windows+E to open a new file explorer
If your mouse has some additional buttons, you can often assign one of these to be a ‘task switcher’.

I develop software for a living and I won’t release something that is broken like this… Why not just fix it?
