Maximum Number of videos per video library?

Server Version#: 1.32.0.6973
Player Version#: Chrome 112.0.5615.138
I seem to have hit a limit where I have 8600 HD movies on my QNAP NAS.

I can only get the Plex server to recognize 7600 movies in a single directory. If I separate the movies into two different directories it will recognize them all. Is there a configuration setting to increase a single directory to a higher number of files Example 10K movies per directory?

I’m not aware of such a limit. Then again… dumping 10k files into a single folder is certainly not ideal with regards to overall system performance (e.g. when it comes to scanning the library for changes)

To add to Tom,

If you’re using the Multimedia shared folder – that’ls the likely source of your problem.

Multimedia shared folder isn’t a real shared folder. It’s a software presentation (list) after scanning your machine.

Using real shared folders (ones you create) is the better solution on QNAP.
