File limit for QNAP?

Hi, I have a library set up for boxing, with a sub folder for each letter in the alphabet.

The library is set up as the ‘Other’ type. All with a QNAP NAS hosting the files.

However, new files are no longer adding. I have around 3,000 separate files on the server.

Is it a Plex issue, or is the issue a QNAP one?

Many thanks for any advice…

The lowest linux Directory limit default is 8192.

The first thing which comes to mind is the QTS “Multimedia” shared folder.

If you’re using it for your media then YES you will have problems.
Multimedia is written by QNAP and for use with their apps (video station, etc)

It’s never worked well with PMS.

In these cases, pointing PMS to the real shared folders (Not a Multimedia shared folder) solves the problem.

Does this seem to apply?

Hi, thanks for the reply, much appreciated.

I have not pointed Plex to the Multimedia folder and instead direct it to ‘Boxing/A’, ‘Boxing/B’, etc.

I don’t use the multimedia folder at all.

Is this a DLNA/Twonky issue at all?

Again, thanks for advice - got me stumped!
