Server unavailable

Hi. I can’t access my media server anymore from my other computer devices. It just suddenly stopped working and I get the message: The server “My Media” is unavailable; on all my other devices. I have restarted the computer the Plex media server is on, as well as my other devices, and my router. If I click on the Plex Media Server, on the actual computer it operates on, it works and I can get the Plex page to open in the browser. But not on any other device.

Can anyone help?

Same issue. And there are others on reddit reporting the issue.

Is there a plex outage at the moment?

Ahh. Was wondering if it’s something else? I’ll wait for a few hours then. Cheers!

Same for me

Down here too. Can connect locally but not remotely. Everyone is freaking out. lol

This is really ridiculous. I was just fine prior to downloading the latest update and now none of my devices can connect remotely. Doesn’t Plex test anything prior to releasing software to the public? I only downloaded freaking update hoping it would resolve their recent off and on remote buffering issues that came out of no where. I may need to start looking for some new software to start the new year.

Same here, I was thinking it was a Comcast thing? But in reviewing all my firewall, and settings nothing has changed. When I review the “Remote Access” page, it comes up green. But my server it not accessible outside of my network? Very strange WTF?

Also having issues. I just purchased a Plex Pass hoping to get everything setup tonight, and of course after I update my Plex Server, and apply my Plex Pass, I can’t get any of my devices to connect outside of the main server itself. Local LAN is fine, but my iPad won’t work, or my iPhone, or my wife’s Kindle. Ugh. Hopefully they will resolve it and all will be fine tomorrow.

@ChuggFlix and I were trying to get ours up and running for 2 hours today. Super frustrating.

I’m having the same problem. I can log in while on the network but not remotely. Strangely, I’m able to log into a friend’s remote Plex server.

In working with other people that have this problem. All 4 of them are running the same firmware version of Plex server. But 2 work, and 2 don’t. They all are on Comcast for internet. The 2 that don’t work are coming up as GREEN under the “Remote Access” tab. The 2 that are accessible remotely are coming up as red, that there is a problem. Again same firmware on all servers.

I am in a Canadian network so it’s not just Comcast.

I come up as green under Remote Access. It shows the incoming port as a number other than 32400. Even when setting it manually to 32400 it doesn’t fix it.

Same here any news?

Same issue here as well. Went as far as to upgrade router firmware (needed to do this anyway), reboot modem and router, upgraded / reinstalled plex. Someone mentioned somewhere that the logs made it sound as though the remote connection was being attempted against the local IP and port, which sounds similar to what my father read back to me from his TV. It mentioned not being able to connect to the IP, but listed my local IP instead of the public IP.

Yeah I can’t access my server as well. Even using the local address it makes me try to log in and I can’t because it has to authenticate with Plex and it can’t.

Something is down right now.

The plex server shouldn’t have to talk with plex.tv every time we want to use it.

If you aren’t using Plex Home, it shouldn’t be a problem. I can’t sign in, but I can still watch all my movies from my devices. I still have access to the server settings if I need to change something.

I can’t even sign in to my server on the local machine. That’s unacceptable. Signing in locally shouldn’t depend on their servers being functional.

And why does the status page show everything is at 100% when it clearly isn’t?

Same problem here
